Why Tanzania?

Tanzania is a safari destination without comparison; about a quarter of its land has been set aside for conservation; it is home to the highest concentrations of wild animals per square kilometer in the world. In Tanzania, you can view the entirety of the Big Five in many of its National Parks.

Tanzania is home to the largest population of lions on the planet and the legendary great migration – an epic journey of strength, determination, and survival. The great migration is the largest movement of animals in the world; over 1 million wildebeest take part in this epic journey every year. The number of animals is so huge that the spectacle is visible from space.

There is more to Tanzania than just safaris; Tanzania is home to Mount Kilimanjaro which is both the highest peak in Africa and the tallest freestanding mountain in the world.  The spice islands of Zanzibar are also in Tanzania; these islands are home to the most beautiful and exotic beaches in the world. In Zanzibar and along the coast of Tanzania, you will experience stunning diving and snorkeling sites, mysterious historical ruins, aromatic spices, and diverse cultures.

To the west of Tanzania, you will find Lake Tanganyika, the longest and second deepest freshwater lake in the world; here you can dive and snorkel close to multi-colored tropical fish. On the shores of Lake Tanganyika, are the thickly forested Gombe and Mahale national parks; these two parks are the best places to track chimpanzees in the world.

Apart from its wildlife, beaches, and Kilimanjaro, Tanzania’s biggest attraction is its peace-loving and hospitable people. Tanzania is a land of culture; 120 unique ethnic groups call the country home and co-exist peacefully. The tribes of Tanzania range from pastoralists such as the world-famous Maasai people to hunters and gatherers such as the Hadzabe bushmen and the Arab influence Swahili people of the cost. No matter where you find yourself in Tanzania, the people will always give you the sincere Swahili greeting of KARIBU; which means WELCOME!

Welcome to Tanzania, the land of Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, and  Serengeti.
