Ruaha National Park is Tanzania’s largest national park. It covers an area of about 20,226 km2 and is located in the south-west of the country. Ruaha is a vast wilderness but relatively unknown and only visited by a few tourists every year.

Ruaha National Park is named after the great Ruaha River which flows along its south-east edges and is the lifeline of the park. Ruaha offers super wildlife in a wild landscape characterized by rocky escarpments and hills colonized by giant baobabs.

Ruaha has one of the largest concentrations of predators in Tanzania; lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyena, wild dogs, bat-eared foxes, and jackals roam freely here. Big game animals such as elephants and buffaloes are found throughout the park. Zebras, giraffes, Grant’s gazelles, greater and lesser kudus, sable and roan antelopes, waterbucks, and impalas are resident in the park.
